A field study was conducted on 40 cross bred cows to study the efficacy of hormones in cystic ovarian diseases on the basis of gynaeco-clinical examination. Based on the conditions, dairy cows were divided into four groups. Group I consisted of 10 dairy cows having the normal cyclic activity, Group II of 10 dairy cross-bred cows with history of anoestrus were selected as control groups. Group III and IV consisted of 10 dairy cross bred cows each, with the history of anoestrus (> 6 months after calving). The results indicated that in control group I, the conception rate was 50,80 and 90 per cent after 1st, 2nd and 3rd inseminations respectively. In group II none of the animals became pregnant. In group III and IV, the animals which received only PGF2á (Ilirin) and PGF2á (Juramate) had lesser conception rate than those received additional dose of RECEPTAL through intra-vulval route.
