Abstract

This paper presents Autonomous Health Monitoring System (AHMS) for dairy animals to detect the health condition of animals in real time environment. It deals with creating a solution for fully automated monitoring animal health system by providing information to the user via SMS regarding animal health condition. AHMS uses several sensors that are mounted around the neck of the dairy animals by means of collar belts. The main sensors that are used in this system are motion sensor, piezoelectric sensor, air flow sensor, temperature sensor along with RFID tag. The sensor values are transferred to a line following robot using ZIGBEE transceivers. Using GSM technology, the robot will transfer the sensor information to the user. Hence AHMS helps the user to be aware of the present health status of animals located at farm.
