Abstract

Present study was designed to evaluate ameliorating potential of Hydechium spicatum on oxidative stress following chronic exposure to indoxacarb in White Leg Horn (WLH) cockerels. Chronic oxidative stress was induced in WLH cockerels. Lipid peroxidation, reduced GSH, GPx, GST, SOD and catalase levels were estimated in blood and tissues. Indoxacarb produced toxicity in the form of alteration of lipid peroxidation, reduced GSH, GPx, GST, SOD and catalase levels. Hedychium spicatum was effective in restoration of these parameters towards normal. It was concluded that Hedychium spicatum has ameliorating potential on oxidative stress following chronic exposure to indoxacarb in WLH cockerels.
