Abstract

Six new donor viz, Asha mutant, CR 331-403-2-2, WR 35-8-1, NHTA-8, Chekoaporetol and R 243-3041-1 were studied to investigate the inheritance of resistance and to indentify the resistant gene(s) present in these donors. Presence of single dominant gene for resistance in Asha Mutant, WR 35-8-1 and R 243-3041-1, and recessive gene in CR 331-403-2-2 for resistance was found. NHTA 8 possessed duplicate dominant gene and R 2270, a susceptible cultivar was found to possess one dominant gene for resistance alongwith its inhibitory gene. Allelic test revealed presence of GM1 gene in WR 35-8-1 and GM2 in Chekhaporetol and R 243-3041-1 and two dominant gene for resistance in NATA-8 and one of these two genes was found to allelic to GM2 for resistance. The dominant gene of Asha Mutant and recessive gene of CR 331-403-2-2 was found non allelic to GM1 and GM2.
