Genetic variability for grain yield, its attributes and temperature tolerance were estimated in 39 genotypes of bread wheat under normal and water stress environmental conditions. High GCV, high heritability and high genetic gain was recorded for GSI, flag leaf blade area, chlorophyll content and relative injury percentage. Significant and positive correlation of grain yield was observed with biological yield, harvest index, 1000-grain weight and seedling vigour index in both the environments. Where as relative injury had negative association with grain yield. Grain yield was primarily dependent on the direct contribution of harvest index and biological yield.
