Abstract

Details are given of observations on number of perfect flower per panicle, number of perfect flowers dropped, number of fruit setted, number of fruit dropped, nut drop at different growth stages along with nut characters with special reference to shelling percentage of 35 variable germplasms were studied. Records of statistical analysis of different germplasms in terms of mean, CV, PCV, GCV, h2 and genetic gain have been studied in detail. The variation in yield and nut quality found in cashew germplasms should provide ample scope for the selection of superior trees for use in a breeding programme.
