Abstract

The study was conducted at Barpani (Meghalaya) during 1999–2000. The results indicated that there was a considerable increase in knowledge of the participants after exposure to training programme. It is found that the trainees with higher exiension contacts. mass-media exposure and level of adoption had more knowledge. It is also imperative thai knowledge shou1d be updated after six months interval as there was a gradual decline in retention of knowledge after this period. Therefore, gain in knowledge, developing appropriate skills, favourable attitude and values are due to training intervention. So, there is a need to change the metamorphosis of extension approach from prescription to motivation mode.
