Abstract

In order to assess the effectiveness of training in knowledge gain and its subsequent utilization pattern, a study was conducted among 258 tribal farmers and farm women of Meghalaya who had undergone five different training programmes (Mushroom cultivation, fruit preservation, piggery, poultry and rabbitry) during 1995–1998. The study has shown that the farmers gained more knowledge as well as ahead in its utilization also in comparison with the farm women in all the cases except in fruit preservation. Significant association has also been found between some selected socia-economic characteristics of the respondents and their knowledge utilization pattern.
