Abstract

Three pot culture experiments were conducted to find out avoidable yield loss caused by Heterodera cajanion sesamum CV. Co.1 by soil application of carbofuran at the rate of 3-kg a.i./ha and metham sodium at the rate of 60 ml/sq.m. Significant differences were found between treated and untreated plants in shoot length and weight, root length and weight, number of capsule and chiorophyD content. The loss of sesamum seed weight in khari/season 1996 with metham sodium was 90.4 per cent and in rabi and summer seasons 1996 with carbofuran was 77.2 per cent.
