Abstract

Screening experiments were conducted under micro plot conditions to identify resistance sources to pigeon-pea cyst nematode in 258 sesame genotypes, 16 advanced cultures and 10 varieties. Among them, 11 genotypes were highly resistant, 11 resistant, 73 moderately resistant and 163 either susceptible or highly susceptible. The varieties, TNAU 11, TMV 3, TMV 4, SVPR 1, VRI 1 and Paiyur 1 were moderiltely susceptible. Low fecundity rate was observed in the advanced cultures VS 27 and VS 81.
