Studies on growth patiern of different citrus species during spring flush

A field experiment was conducted to know the vegetative growth pattern of 8 cultivars of citrus and 7 other citrus species. Among different cultivars Kingtheppi orange had maximum shoot length, leaf area, inter nodal length, fresh and dry weight of shoot. But shoot diameter and leaves/shoot were found to be highest in Mediterranean orange and Nagpur Mandarin, respectively. However, in other citrus species, Citrus volkameriana recorded maximum shoot length, shoot dimater, leaves/shoot and dry weight of shoot. While larger size leaf was found in Sohniang riang.
