Abstract

The present study was conducted to determine the adoption behaviour of the farmers towards soil and water conservation technology on watershed basis in south-eastern Rajasthan. The number of respondents comprises 108 farm families each in inside and outside the watershed. It was found that 58.33 per cent farmers inside the watershed were adopted bunding and 67.59 per cent contour cultivation. In outside the watershed none of the farmers adopted levelling, bunding and nala bunding. However, 47.22 and 17.59 per cent farmers respectively adopted contour farming and intercropping technology. The analysis further showed that majority of the respondents have very low adoption quotient. The factors that had relationship with the adoption of soil conservation technologies were identified as caste, education, family size, income, landholding, extension contact social participation and socio economic status.
