Two hybrids of sorghwn viz., CSH 14 and CSH 9 were sown on six different dates starting from July 14, at weekly intervals and observations on insects pests incidence and their effect on growth, yield attributing characters and grain and stover yield were recorded. No significant difference on insect pests incidence and growth and yield attributing characters was recorded between two hybrids. However, the weight and length of earhead and number of primaries per earhead were significantly higher in CSH 14 than CHS 9. As the sowing was delayed, the infestation of shoot fly, stem borer and midge increases and it adversely affected the plant height, weight and length of earhead, number of primaries and spikelets and grain and stover yield during both the years. Gross and net return and B:C ratio of Rs. 43179, Rs. 39429 and 1:10.51 respectively, was recorded in the July 14 sown crop which was significantly declined to Rs. 9798, Rs 6048 and 1:1.60 in the crop sown on August 18.
