Abstract

A field experiment conducted during 1995–96, 1996–97 and 1997–98 in a sandy loam soil with two modes of urea application viz., urea alone and urea blended with neem cake (20% by weight) and three modes of application viz., broadcast, each row application and alternate row application revealed that the urea blended with neem cake proved significantly superior over application of urea alone and recorded higher grain, straw and total biological yield, Harvest index and productivity as well. Among the methods of application, the alternate row application of fertilizers proved signiflcantly superior over broadcast or each row application.
