Abstract

A pot experiment was conducted with N, P, K, NP, NK and NPK as treatment at 0.5 per cent level. Sheath blight infected leaf sheath pieces and sclerotia filled in nylon bags were buried in natural soil at 5 cm depth and kept in glasshouse. The survival of the pathogen was studied. Among the treatments, K alone or in combination with N or P reduced the survival of mycelium of the pathogen in plant debris. Survival of sclerotia was significantly reduced in P, K and PK amended soil.
