Abstract

Leaf blight of wheat caused by Helminthosporium sativum has emerged an important disease of wheat in northern and eastern region of India and causing considerable losses. The multilocation trial conducted at Karnal, Kanpur, Pusa and Faizabad revealed that propiconazole (Tilt 25 EC) as an effective fungicide in controlling the leaf blight of wheat and increasing the grain yield significantly (30.9%) over water sprayed plots. Three sprays of Tilt @ 500ml/ha at 15 days interval starting from 70 days old crop were most effective in controlling the disease.
