Abstract

The triple test cross analysis in bhendi brought out that significant epistasis is present for most of the characters in the three crosses except for days to first flower in two crosses (Arka Anamika x Parbhani Kranti) and (Parbhani Kranti x MDU 1). Significant ‘i’ type epistasis (homozygote x homozygote) was recorded for fruit yield per plant in all the three crosses. While fruit yield per plant showed significant ‘j’ (homozygote x heterozygote) and ‘I’ (heterozygote x heterozygote) type epistasis m the cross Arka Anamika x Parbhani Kranti. The D and H component were significant for all the traits in the cross Arka Anamika x MDU 1. The (H/D)1/2 estimate was less than unit for most of the characters.
