Abstract

“Cellulolysis rate” of the pathogenic fungus, Drechslera ellisii was studied on filter paper discs. There was positive correlation between the growth of the fungus and weight loss of the filter paper. The weight loss caused by the fungus was influenced by nitrogen content of the nutrient solution and pH. It increased with increasing concentration of nitrate content and was maximum at pH 5.0 of the nutrient solution.
