The investigation was carried out to study the effect of auxins on the rooting of hardwood and semi hardwood cuttings of fig. The highest percentage of rooting, maximum number of roots, longest root length per cutting and maximum survival percentage of rooted cuttings was obtained with IBA 2500 ppm + NAA 2500 ppm followed by IBA 2500 ppm in both hardwood and semi hardwood cuttings. NAA 5000 ppm recorded highest percentage of rooting and other root characters. Among different type of cuttings, hardwood cuttings recorded maximum percentage of rooting, survival percentage and other root characters over semi hardwood cuttings. Thus, fig can be propagated by hardwood cuttings treated with IBA 2500 ppm + NAA 2500 ppm.
