A field experiment was conducted during winter season of 2000 to study the planting date and picking stages on seed yield and quality of aster genotypes. The results revealed that October planting recorded maximum capitulum diameter, capitulum weight, number of capitula per plant, filled seed weight per plant, seed weight per capitulum, 1000 seed weight, filled seed percentage, seed yield per plant and per hectare and seed quality parameters compared to September, November and December plantings. The performance of Kamini was found to be better over Poornima and Sarpan purple genotypes. Picking of capitula at 140 days after transplanting (DAT) of aster genotypes recorded higher seed yield and its attributes and seed quality parameters compared to 120 and 160 DAT.
