Out of four IPM modules evaluated against cotton bollworms viz., spotted bollworm Earias vittella Fab., American bollworm Helicoverpa armigera Hubn. and pink bollworm Pectinophora gossypiella (Saunders), the IPM module (M2) comprising seed treatment with imidacloprid @ 7.5g/kg, release of Trichogramma chilonis @ 1.5 lakhs/ha at 60 and 67 DAG (days after germination), application of NSKE (5%) at 40 and 55 DAG, spraying of endosulfan (0.05%) at 75 DAG and profenophos (0.05%) at 90 DAG on need basis, growing of cowpea as inter crop and installing of bird perches @20/ha afforded excellent control of bollworms with highest seed cotton yield of 15.65 q/ha and monetary benefit of Rs. 9904/- per ha, over the chemical control schedule (M4).
