Two hundred fifty linseed germplasm lines were evaluated during rabi 2006–07 and the nonhierachical Euclidean Cluster analysis grouped 250 genotypes into eleven distinct clusters. This indicated high degree of genetic diversity in the germplasm collection. To exploit the variability, which contributed maximum toward divergence; it is desirable to hybridize the genotypes of different clusters with maximum inter-cluster distance. In this context, genotypes included in cluster I and VI should be selected for inter crossing aiming for higher seed yield in linseed.
