Genetic variability, heritability and genetic advance for different characters were studied in 21 pumpkin genotypes. The study indicated existence of considerable amount of genetic variability for all the traits. Based on mean performance of yield and yield components PPU-60 was identified as most promising genotype. The maximum phenotypic and genotypic coefficients of variation were observed for fruit yield per plant. High estimates of heritability (broad sense) along with high genetic advance as percent of mean were recorded for most of the traits except days to first staminate flower anthesis.
