Abstract

A field experiment was conducted in subtropical climate of Lucknow, (U.P.) to investigate the influence of phosphorus and zinc in geranium-garlic intercropping system. Application of 40kg P2O5 ha−1and 30kg zinc ha−1 did influence the biomass and oil yield in geranium significantly over control. Similar trend of result were noticed in garlic also. Citronellol content in geranium oil increased with age of the crop, whereas, geraniol content decreased. In general citronellol (28%) and geraniol (18%) content found in the oil of geranium were as per the acceptable standard.
