Priority handover schemes for broadband wireless mobile network are under consideration. Different priority schemes for handover handling are compared and the possibility of their modeling with Markov chains is presented. A new priority scheme with three lever priority for UMTS handover is presented and algorithm for calculation of basic probabilistic characteristics is suggested. Two new priority schemes for handling the handover calls at 4G Next Generation Broadband Wireless Networks – scheme with total priorities and scheme with State Dependent Processor Sharing are developed. The schemes are modeled with 2D and 3D Markov chains and their basic probabilistic characteristics are presented.
