Facebook makes meeting new people extremely easy due to the fact that it allows you to add up to thousands of friends, and acts as a social melting pot of the internet. If you comment on a friend's status, and one of their friends comments on it, maybe you two will strike up your own conversation. This can lead to a great friendship down the road. Most people find it a lot easier to start a conversation with someone on Facebook than in real life, so many high-school relationships tend to start there. The present study entitled, ‘communication and political effect of Facebook’, was carried in district Kanpur and Lucknow in the year 2014. Thus, four colleges were selected from both districts with 180 respondents. Out of total respondents, 50% were male and 50% were female. 38.2% of respondents were spending time on Facebook between 5 and 30 min in a day; whereas, 39.4% of respondents were using Facebook account at any time in a day. 37.2% of respondents were improving skill on entertainment content and 29.4% of respondents were making close friends through Facebook.
