Abstract

At the time of independence in 1947, India inherited an economically stagnant economy. The framers of the Indian Constitution tried to build a strong united India, both to ensure the cohesiveness of a vast country and to build a sound fiscal system of government. So a modest attempt is made in this paper to redesign the fiscal reform process relating to revenue mobilization, expenditure restructuring and debt reforms in future.
