Abstract

Industrial social work's development is influenced by the historical forces — social, economic and cultural in a particular country at a specific point of time. The field of industrial social work is still evolving in India as well as other parts of the world. The scope of social work in an industrial organization is within the administrative purview of the personnel or labour welfare department, as the department is concerned with the welfare of the operative employees.
