Despite the many improvements in the precision press parts manufacturing industry during the past years, even the best shops experience bottlenecks. Many of those end up being in the press brake set up procedures. This paper aims to identify and eliminate current and potential problems from a bending process of a case company. Ishikawa diagram and the Failure mode effect analysis is aimed to reduce errors and shorten the development duration, increased product reliability. It also creates knowledge base in a sheet metal parts manufacturing company. So potential risks and current risks are identified, current controls are evaluated and risk reducing actions are defined in advance. Furthermore, some measures are suggested which require to be taken as soon as possible to avoid potential risks.
