Abstract

VLF atmospherics at 27 kHz operating round-the-clock at Kalyani 22.98° N, 88.46°, West Bengal, reveal typical variations in the noise level during the violent earthquake of April 11, 2012, first experienced at Indonesia and subsequently at different cities of India. A preliminary analysis of the earthquake and its effect on atmospherics is reported in this paper.
