Nano particles of lead (II) hydroxide have been prepared by chemical co-precipitation method. The particle size and crystal structure of lead (II) hydroxide nano powders are characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD). The surface morphology of the ample is studied from SEM images. The FTIR spectrum is used to study the stretching and bending frequencies of molecular groups in the sample. The absorption spectra of the sample are recorded in the UV range. From the analysis of absorption spectra, lead (II) hydroxide is found to have a direct band gap of 5.41eV.
