Comparative effect of small group and team teaching method on student's academic performance in biology in uyo local government area, Akwa Ibom state

Abstract

This study investigated comparative effects of small group and team teaching method on the academic performance of biology students in uyo Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State. Three research questions were raised and three hypotheses were also formulated. One hundred and twenty (120) students used as the sample size of the study selected from two (2) secondary schools in Uyo Local Government Area. The instrument used for data collection was Biology Achievement Test (BAT). The data obtained from the instrument were subjected to independent t-test statistics and the result found out to be significant and as such, all hypotheses were rejected in favor of the alternative hypotheses. The research design used was pre-experimental. Among the recommendation made was that Government should organize seminars, conferences and workshop to educate the teachers based on team teaching method.
