Most integral/integrodifferential equations used to describe wire antenna analysis cannot be solved analytically hence the need for a technique to obtain the solution. This technique is the method of moment. It converts these equations into a linear system of equations which can be solved numerically by expanding the unknown in a set of basis function. It is then operated upon by a set of weighting function. It is a reliable method whose validity has been demonstrated (by several authors) by comparing it with experimental outcomes and good agreement is seen. In this work is enumerated the uniqueness of this approach, feed model, various formulation used in describing the model, the benefit and implication for any choice of the function to be used.
