Abstract

Model predictive control is a modern technique to design control system for various complex nonlinear multivariable industrial processes. It determines the optimum control moves in manipulated variable by forecasting the future values of all controlled variables. In the present work the robustness of MPC system for a lime kiln process with two manipulated variables namely the fuel gas flowrate, and the percent opening of the induced draft damper and two controlled variables namely front end temperature and back end temperature has been tested.
