Adsorption kinetics and chromatographic behavior of Cr(VI) on roasted powder date palm (RPDP) were determined from batch testes. The effects of contact time, Cr(VI) concentrations, polarity, pH and acidity on Cr(VI) uptake were studied. The kinetic of adsorption was explained using pseudo-first order, pseudo-second order and Elovich kinetic models. It was found that the adsorption followed pseudo-first order. The retained Cr(VI) was recovered from RPDP column with HNO3 (3 mol L-1, 10 mL) at 3 mL min-1 flow rate. Good recovery of total Cr (96–100%) was obtained for the analyzed samples.
