The proposed study is from Bhunjia tribe, a special Particularly Vulnerable Tribal Groups (PVTGs) (State Government) identified by the Chhattisgarh state government. In the presented research paper, an attempt has been made to highlight various dimensions of the life of the Bhunjia tribe. The Bhunjia tribe resides in a very small area of Chhattisgarh state. This tribe is mainly found in Gariaband district of Chhattisgarh state. At present, the process of modernization has greatly affected the tribal community. Various aspects of modernization have also had a direct impact on the Bhunjia tribe. The main objective of the present study is to study the socio-cultural beliefs and customs of the Bhunjia tribe and to study the impact of modernization on the religious life, festivals and celebrations of the Bhunjia tribe. It is completely based on primary facts but secondary facts have also been used to verify the facts. Modernization has had a widespread impact on the Bhunjia tribe which affects various aspects of their lives. Bhunjia tribe has many cultural features like Lal Bangla, Osamdhwa etc. which are vanishing either completely or partially. It is very important to document them.
