Fossil fuels depletion is major problem of the world because we are fully dependent on energy resources for essential activities. Population explosion and pollution are also major problems of the world. With rise in population utilization of fossil fuels increases. Burning of these fuels causes serious environmental damage by releasing various hazardous chemicals and green houses gases. Oil spills through transportation of these fuels cause serious damage to the aquatic life. Another problem with these fuels is that they are non-renewable. These problems have made renewable energy sources as alternative option of energy which is far more attractive to meet future energy demands. In this series ethanol replaces gasoline in many places because it is renewable energy source and it is regarded as clean fuel because it causes no pollution and it is environmentally acceptable. Ethanol is produce initially by corn, sugarcane but due to certain limitations like these crops requires large land and due to ethical issues researcher shifted their choice to some other resources like agriculture waste, fruit industry waste, rotten fruit like banana, grapes, mango peel, and pomace and produce ethanol through fermentation using Saccharomyces cerevisiae. Normally burning of agriculture waste causes pollution using these as sources material for ethanol production increases possibility of increasing production and reduces cost and minimizes the pollution caused by these waste materials. In long term fruit and agriculture waste to ethanol process will be most feasible pathway.
