Abstract

Bumblefoot is a common bacterial infection of poultry and domesticated fowls including chicken and ducks. The predisposing conditions include constant walking on rough and hard surface which develops wounds and lesions. These wounds are very susceptible to infection by the opportunistic pathogen Staphylococcus aureus.
