Abstract

Polycrystalline Pr2/3Sr1/3MnO3 sample has been synthesized by solid state reaction method with final sintering temperature 1400°C. Thus synthesized sample is crystallized in single phase orthorhombic Pbnm space group confirmed from the XRD pattern. The insulator-metal transition temperature (TIM) is observed at ∼297K. Magneto-resistance (MR) of the sample is as high as 36% at 300K in applied field of 3T Temperature coefficient of resistance (TCR) is found to be maximum 7% at ∼280K. Thus the synthesized Pr2/3Sr1/3MnO3 sample having good MR (36% 3T) can serve as a potential magnetic sensor near room temperature.
