Temporomandibular joint Ankylosis is a condition in which the condylar movement is limited due to the abnormal consolidation of the temporomandibular joint. The Temporomandibular joint (TMJ) plays an important role in craniofacial integrity and hence its ankylosis has devastating effects on further growth and development of the jaws and teeth in a growing child. The Temporomandibular joint (TMJ) ankylosis, when it occurs in a child leads to impairment of speech, difficulty in mastication, poor oral hygiene and pose a negative influence on the psychological development of the patient. If the worst sequel of this condition is to be avoided then its early detection and treatment is warranted. We present a case report on bilateral Temporomandibular joint (TMJ) ankylosis with emphasis on its wide range of manifestations.
