Introduction: This study was designed to investigate the condyle-fossa relationship in temporomandibular joint (TMJ) in normal Class I cases & untreated skeletal Class III cases with the help of C.T. Scan as well as to know which part of the mandible plays a more dominant role in the developing structure.
Materials and Method: Vertical grower Class I normal and skeletal Class III were selected on various cephalometric criterias like angle SNA, angle SNB, angle ANB, wit's appraisal, gonial angle, and mandibular Plane Angle. All the selected cases were analyzed with the help of C.T. Scan to assess & measure the temporomandibular joint. C.T. scan slides were taken to evaluate TMJ in both axial & coronal sections in centric occlusion.
Results & Conclusion: The findings indicated that the the condyle is positioned more anteriorly in glenoid fossa in Skeletal Class III vertical growers, mediolateral width of the condyle is more in Skeletal Class III cases and Skeletal Class III cases have constricted glenoid width in comparison with Skeletal Class I cases.
