Loss of even one finger produces significant functional deficiences. In addition to immediate loss of grasp, strength and security, finger absence may also cause marked psychological trauma. Individuals who desire finger replacement usually have high expectations for the appearance of the prosthesis. The objectives of finger rehabitilation includes, restoring form and function and individual to the society. Besides this, it should also have therapeutic effect and should preserve hard and soft tissues. This article focuses on an innovative method of fabricating hollow type of finger prosthesis to aid in retention, reduce the weight and thereby the cost of prosthesis. It also enabled us, to match the colour of the dorsal and ventral surfaces separately so that the prosthetic form, coloration and texture be as natural as possible.
