Peripheral giant cell granuloma(PGCG) is considered to be a benign hyperplastic reactive lesion. Though etiology is unclear, it appears to be caused by local irritation or chronic trauma. This article presents a case of PGCG in a 68 year old female, with an emphasis on the need for awareness among general practioners regarding the role of dentists in adequate management to help in the prevention of recurrence of this lesion. Other less common features of peripheral giant cell granuloma which were present in our case, like the presence of calcification in the lesion, large size of the lesion and the possibility of a multiple peripheral giant cell granuloma without any concomitant systemic disease have been reviewed here.
