The basic concern of edentulous patients is retention of dentures. This is mainly true for moderately to severely resorbed maxillary and mandibular ridges. The success or failure of the prosthesis mainly depends upon its ability to stay in place firmly in order to perform the desired functions out of it. To overcome the problem of retention of dentures considerable experimentation and researches have been done trying to enhance retention in dentures by various means possible. This article describes the use of a heat-cured polymer liner containing multiple small suction cups, for severely resorbed maxillary ridge providing an alternative to poorly fitting denture.
