Abstract

To access the Oral Health Knowledge Attitude and Practices of Bodo Tribes in Assam, India.

A structured questionnaire prepared in English and the local language is used to study the 600 subjects of age groups 35–44 and 45 years above.

The oral health knowledge among Bodo tribe adults is generally poor. And the attitude of people who were in age group of 44 years and above in this study is measured to be less positive than those of the younger adults who are in age group of 35–44 years. Oral Hygiene Practices of educated adults are much better than that of the uneducated and primary schooling adults but awareness about fluoride content was lacking among them.

Further studies should be done on the bodo tribes to providing a basis for more community-based oral health education programs, especially targeting adults who are less-well-educated and have fewer socio-economic advantages.
