Abstract

To Compare And Evaluate The Microleakage In Class 2 Cavities With Three Different Packable Composites Using Confocal Microscope An In Vitro Study.

Twenty freshly extracted maxillary premolar teeth without carious lesions were selected. All samples were divided into three experimental groups and one control group with five samples in each group. Mesiocclusodistal (MOD) Class II cavities were prepared by using high speed hand piece and #245 tungsten carbide bur on each tooth with final dimension of the cavity showed 2 mm occlusal extension, 3 mm buccolingual extension. Type IX Gic (GC FUJI IX) was applied as the liner, except the control group. Following this, etching was done using 37%phosphoric acid and bonding was done with Any bond. All the three experimental groups and the control group were restored with Nano fill nano hybrid composite (AMMDENT), Tetric N Ceram (Ivoclar, vivadent), Nano hyibrid zirconium based composite Any Com(MD CLUES MEDICLUS.CO.LTD) and Nano fill nano hybrid composite(AMMDENT) respectively. After storage, thermocycling and immersion in 0.5% basic fuchsin solution specimens were sectioned and evaluated for microleakage at the occlusal and cervical walls using confocal microscope.

In class II restorations, a least microleakage was observed with Ivoclar(Tetric n ceram) composite at both occlusal and cervical walls.
