Abstract

The performance of Crew Exploration Vehicle (CEV) is directly linked to its effective guidance and control. In this paper, we present a high performance control method for trajectory tracking of Reusable Launch Vehicles during descending phase. Algorithms for adjusting vehicle heading angle, heading speed and altitude to maintain desired lateral, longitudinal and vertical trajectory tracking are derived using neural network and robust control technique. The disturbances and coupled dynamics due to flight condition variation are compensated using neural network unit in which no analytical estimation on the upper bound of the reconstruction error and uncertainties is needed. The performance of the developed control scheme is verified via simulation.
