Abstract

At this article, a methodology for modeling and animation of complex dynamic system is described on its two components: the former consisting on the algorithms for modeling, by means of implementing fuzzy cognitive maps; the latter consisting of the visual representation module which was developed on Macromedia Flash. This last module, more than just a simple graphic user interface, allows a reactive animation of the system according to the values received from the modeling component. Both components are connected over TCP/IP, letting them operate on separate machines. A coral ecosystem representation is shown in the animation along with the variables and relations that are related to this environment, in order to predict how these variables affect the life and development of this ecosystem.
