Abstract

The human brain interprets imprecise and incomplete sensory information provided by perceptive organs. It is difficult to describe the behavior of a microorganism by means of mathematical equations. The complexity and uncertainty of a bioprocess require sophisticated logic of operations, which cannot be easily fitted in to the mathematical framework of the traditional control approach. Intelligent control system has the ability to learn about the process, disturbances and operating conditions.

In this paper, Adaptive Neuro Fuzzy Inference System (ANFIS) is used for the controlling of an unstable reactor. A decentralized ANFIS controller is used for the same, with a Fuzzy Associative Memories (FAM) in a supervisory mode. The simulation experiments indeed demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed method.
