Cannabis a major psychoactive drug has its usage dating back to history. It's a drug of dependence. Its association with music came to light with the ‘Hippy Culture’ that dominated the western countries and slowly evading the eastern cultures. With its increasing use among young adults, the authors attempted to study the pattern of music preference and cannabis use using a validated semi-structured self-administering proforma. The personality profiles of the study subjects were thoroughly analysed. However, the hallmark of the study is its attempt at achieving external validity and bringing to light the connection between music preference and cannabis use in the Indian context.
